What is the ARC Program?
And this is why it matters for global retailers.
The ARC Program — run by the Auburn University RFID Lab — is the global standard for certifying passive UHF (RAIN) RFID inlays and tags.
ARC sets performance-specifications (“Specs”) based on real-world use cases — retail, logistics, aviation, healthcare, and more.
When a tag design passes ARC testing, it means the inlay performs reliably under defined conditions (readability, material interactions, interference, etc.).
Beyond that, the ARC Quality Certification audits manufacturers’ processes — verifying they can produce millions of tags consistently with the same quality, yield, and reliability over time.
For end users and retailers, ARC certification offers predictability, interoperability, and reduced deployment risk. It ensures the tags will perform as expected — whether used in a warehouse, on the shop floor, or in transit — across different readers and environments.
For manufacturers like Hana RFID, ARC certification is proof of our commitment to quality: it validates that our inlays meet global standards and that our production infrastructure supports consistent, large-scale output.
