Was Hana the first embeddable tire tag supplier?
Hana was the first to successfully commercialize embeddable RFID tire tags in 2005 and remains a global #1, supplying millions of robust, lifecycle-ready tags.
In short: Hana was among the first to develop—and has led the industry since the early days of commercial deployment.
A testament to Hana's leading story was covered in a recent article by RFID Journal: After Decades of Development, Tire and RFID Industries Prepare for New Growth
Why and how:
-
Hana began working on embeddable RFID tire tags decades ago and by 2005 had introduced commercial tire-embedded tags.
-
Our early collaborations included major tire makers such as Michelin and Goodyear — the first to deploy embedded RFID in racecar tires for the NASCAR series.
-
Since then, Hana has tagged hundreds of millions of tires, refining design for commercial, off-road, mining, and fleet use.
So while we may not have been the absolute first ever to prototype tire tags, we were among the earliest to bring embeddable RFID tags to market — and remain a global #1 in embeddable tire-tagging.
That early start — racing-grade durability in 2005 — gave us a two-decade head start in reliability, scale, and real-world testing that no other in the market can match.
